Garden Birds

I seem to have a new found bird spotting hobby! I really want to attract the neighbours cat and a red squirrel. I put out some suet balls this week although I'm really just attracting the birds to eat our grass seed.

The birds that I have seen in our new garden....

Sparrows (Hedge & House)
Blackbird (Mr & Mrs)
Blue tits
Robin
Starlings

My brother-in-law is an ornithologist and posted a link from the Avon Wildlife Trust who have launched a campaign to help save the House Sparrow.  It has been recently classified as a red list species, its really strange to think that something we see everyday is on the equivalent list as the Giant Panda!  You can report sightings on the following web page - could be a great thing to do with your children?
