10 things I love & 10 things I hate about France

Ten things I love about France

1. Zoe and James are here.
2. We have a much bigger flat than we could afford in the UK.
3. People are friendly (a lady waved at me after we both waited to collect our other halves from the train station and a boy offered Zoe his inflatable boat at the swimming lake).
4. If I ever learn any French I will have completed a GCSE standard of education.
5. The weather has been fab.
6. We have managed to get the equilivant Child Benefit and it is nearly double what we got in the UK (not taking the exchange rate or higher cost of living into account).
7. I'm permanently on holiday!
8. Stunning architecture and beautiful landscapes.
9. Wine is cheap. 1,50 Euro for a bottle of local red table wine - result.
10. The most amazing cakes.

Ten things I hate about France

1. Our friends and family are not here.
2. It's sooo slow, everything takes at least a month to happen.
3. There are no playgroups or classes for toddler and preschooler activities.
4. The really bad drivers, if anyone drove faster than 20mph there would be more accidents.
5. I can't speak to anyone (OK maybe not France's fault).
6. Baguettes were fun but now I just want some bread.
7. There is an aroma of cigarette smoke and dog wee.
8. Kissing - why? I don't get it, I don't know you, don't kiss me!
9. The amazing cakes are too expensive to actually buy and eat. James bought us one for nine Euro's to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and it was totally worth the money! Maybe they are just to be looked at and why the French stay so slim.
10. I can't think of anything else that must be an extra point for France.
